Extremely rare 18th century French solid yew-wood armoire.

The unusual overall straight lines will allow this distinctive piece to be easily placed into any home.

Once we have completed a few minor repairs in the workshop, not even new waxes need be applied.

As the 250 years of wax build up, merely needs a good buff to bring up a wonderful patina.

41 years in the trade and 30 years in business and I’ve never seen a solid yew-wood armoire.

This rare, always expensive timber was always used for the most expensive of pieces. The rarest most pricey items I’ve sold over the past 30 years have nearly all been English yew-wood. Rarely seen in French pieces. The last pic is of a pair of rare 18th century English gothic revival Windsor armchairs I sold in Melbourne 15 years ago for $55,000! As I said, rare = expensive. This armoire isn’t that expensive at all, but had to explain the rarity. Once I’ve completed my renovation of my apartment, I have to move in properly, using a crane. This Armoire will be placed into my spare bedroom, as a beautiful double wardrobe and extra shoe storage. That is unless someone purchased beforehand!
