Last night I delivered this decorative French walnut petrin to one of my favourite customers.
Not the best lit apartment, so I included a photo from showroom. The piece certainly lifted her living room. Especially when we placed the two rare Masons plates I sold to her recently.

The cleated three plank sliding top, above a canted bin, the front panel having a central sun carving, flanked by matching reversed shaped fielded panels.
The base with sunflower carved panel, flanked by rectangular fielded paneled doors.
Resting on short square tapered legs.
Good overall well faded colour.
First half 19th Century French fruitwood dough bin/coffee table.
The well patinated cleated hinged top above four canted sides and a thick planked floor. The carcass having a richer patina due to less light and natural wear.
Once a dough bin, removed from stand and hinged the sliding top, clean and wax and great coffee table.
Note: can always be placed back to the base and back to original.
Early 19th Century French walnut and fruitwood coffee table.The beautifully grained faded cleated top, with chunky country dovetailed joints joining the canted corners, resting on bun feet.
The hinged top opening for storage of wines, blankets, rugs, newspapers etc… Good overall colour and patination.
19th Century French chestnut and fruitwood dough bin.
The well patinated chestnut rectangular three plank sliding top above four canted chestnut sides and a shaped frieze having a fruitwood centre drawer, resting on square fruitwood inner tapered and chamfered legs. Good overall colour.
An unusual early 19th Century French elm dough bin
The deep central hinged elm top, having narrow end cleats. lifting either side, possibly made for seperate breads to be made and stored beside? Interesting, any ideas would be appreciated…
Above a canted bin, constructed using hand made nails, above a narrow shaped frieze, housing a single elm drawer, with later brass handle, resting on a bold square chamfered leg, joined by rectangular chamfered stretchers.
The single plank sliding top (can be hinged) above the handmade nailed four canted sides. The outswept tapered legs on solid block supports. Good colour and participation.
A 19th Century French walnut dough bin. Having a shaped two plank cleated top above the canted bin with floral carvings, above a secret drawer on turned supports, joined to carved shaped stretchers on cabriole legs.
