Great news is I managed to obtain two more bronze hare’s today, 11 & 26.

Phoebe’s parents Bill and Kate were some of my earliest country oak buying customers back around 1991.

Long before they or I had any children.
One thing I’ve loved over the years is many customers have become friends.
Having the same taste in rare antiques and art certainly helps to start and maintain such relationships.
It’s been a pleasure selling them some wonderful pieces and restoring a few over the past four decades.
Wow, that’s a long time!

‘Regal Mashman’ Australian Pottery drip glaze Vase

Ernest James Theodore (Theo) Mashman (1895-1964), potter, was born on 19 August 1895 at Willoughby, Sydney.

Elder son of Henry Mashman (1856-1922), potter, and his second wife Elizabeth Simpson, née Wieland, a widow.

Theo, as he was known, represented the second generation of Mashmans in Australia.

Resting on an 18th-century English Oak Coffer.

Beside a first half 20th century English lantern clock, in 17th-century style.

A 19th-century four-fold hand-carved and painted Chinese lacquered screen.

19th-century French hand-carved gilt wall mirror, having the beautifully aged original mirror.

In reflections, a first-quarter 18th century Elizabeth Blackwell hand coloured copper engraving ‘Wallflower’ 1737.

A large 20th-century Australian female charcoal nude, drawn 1988.
