A rare set of six 1920s revival dining chairs.

These chairs are around 100 years old. The 20s was a huge revival period.

They have Queen Anne rear shaped splats and shaped top rails 1705.
George I and George II cavletto style moulds 1714 – 1740
all blending so well.

Description

Over the past eight years living in my apartment, I’ve sold six farmhouse tables. Same for our family home, I sold many. Seeing functional/decorative pieces in situ has been a major part of my life, from when I first opened 1990.

When re dressing The Johnston Collection in 2010 (refer to my website “media”) I learnt William Johnston operated his sales techniques in the same way. Quite the same, yet quite different.

After closing my showroom last June, I’ve continued selling from my apartment as well as my warehouse in North Fitzroy.

Further, I decided today while starting to restore several pieces badly smoke and water damaged in a recent fire, that I get so much enjoyment from restoring, literally transforming special pieces I work on, that I’ll continue to restore as well.

I’d sort it of made up my mind, it’s all about to finish, but looks like I’ll continue to do so, alongside whatever I end up doing with myself in the future. I must say, was a very nice realisation ✨
