Four George III country Chippendale oak chairs
The shaped top rail having slight pronounced ears, on angled supports, with a beautiful fret carved central upright splat. The comfortable drop in upholstered seat framed by an unusual thick mitred mould, resting on square tapered legs, joined by an ‘H’ stretcher.
1780 – 1800
This unusual set has classic lines combined with a slightly crude construction.
Perfect set to combine with another group or to sit at a smaller farmhouse table in an apartment, or to use as a pair of chairs to sit either side of a dresser with the other two scattered as occasional chairs. It’s nice to have a set of four to use as required.
Note: These chairs are still to be re-glued, cleaned and re-waxed. All included in price.
