Elizabeth Blackwell. A Curious Herbal.
Such a fascinating, gifted woman from the early 18th century. Certainly one of my top five botanical engravers in history.
I’ve sold many of her pages over the past four decades.
Having recently purchased several copies of a re print of “A Curious Herbal” I decided to give a copy with each sale of an original
Blackwell page I sell until all copies gone.
Look under “Works of Art” – “Botanicals” or scroll through my instagram page to see my latest unframed Blackwell arrivals.
Rewired, shined and cleaned to Australian Standards.
20th Century Regency style standard reading lamp
I know who made this lamp, as I used to buy from Chris and re sell back in the 90s.
Chris had this shop before I moved in 1990, then he was a couple of blocks up “Lighthouse Antiques”,
haven’t seen Chris for nearly a decade, great bloke.
Anyway, it’s nice to have one in stock again.
You’ll notice the arm and shade are fully moveable to light up your art or use as a reading lamp.
The stylish clean Regency lines in brass suit my style of furniture and art well.

An unusually shaped 18th century English well faded mahogany D-end drop side dining table.
To me one of the best English furniture designs.
Such plain clean lines. So many uses. Sofa, Hall, Side, One end D, or a fully opened long oval dining table.
Great overall fade, resembling straight grained walnut, with a fresh wax finish.
