The shaped top rail having exceptional acanthus leaf carved decoration above a shaped fret carved centre splat, the carver’s having shaped arms with leaf carvings above the shaped supports, with an upholstered drop in seat, the seat rails having quarter mould detail flowing through to the front legs, joined by stretchers. For copies these are as good as they get

Note: the mortice and tenon construction with the timber pegs running through the joints. They would be polished in a clear flat finish to retain the faded colour with a waxed finish.
