A Rare Set of Six 18th Century English Country Hepplewhite Dining Chairs.
The ogee-shaped top rail, flowing into a waisted fret-carved centre splat, flanked by tapered side supports.
Having a Belgian linen upholstered drop-in seat, resting on square block inner chamfered legs, the front having double reeds.
Joined by an ‘H’ stretcher.

Note: The rear legs alternating from a tapered champhord upright to a turned tapered leg, terminating on a small pad foot.

The individual shaped top rails above peirced fret-carved central splats flanked by tapered uprights, having upholstered seats, resting on plain squared legs joined by stretchers
Seen many dinner parties, been in the Allpress home for the past 20 years.
Still to be re-waxed and polished.
1770 – 1790
The shaped top rail having slight ears to each end, joined to shaped tapered supports, having a fine scratched carved inward chasing line.
Framing a fret carved vase shaped upright centre splat.
A modern upholstered drop in seat, resting on square inner chamfered legs, joined by rectangular ‘H’ stretchers.
Fantastic overall colour and patination.

This is the first complete set of chairs I have had in stock for a few years.

Set of ten 20th Century faded mahogany Chippendale style dining chairs including two carvers
The shaped top rail having exceptional acanthus leaf carved decoration above a shaped fret carved centre splat, the carver’s having shaped arms with leaf carvings above the shaped supports, with an upholstered drop in seat, the seat rails having quarter mould detail flowing through to the front legs, joined by stretchers. For copies these are as good as they get
Note: the mortice and tenon construction with the timber pegs running through the joints. They would be polished in a clear flat finish to retain the faded colour with a waxed finish.
Each with pierced vase shaped and serpentine shaped top rail, the drop-in seat above deep flattened arch shaped seat rails, raised on front cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, rear turn stretcher and a rare out-swept legs beautifully chamfered.
Fantastic colour and paination.

The curved top rail having a carved scroll, enclosing well detailed Acanthus leaf carving flowing into the shaped uprights. The scroll shaped centre splat having beautifully matched carved detail. Having a generous drop-in upholstered seat above well moulded rails, resting on exceptional turned front legs. The chairs have a good overall faded colour finish.

17th Century English oak spindle back side chair.
The rectangular spindle filled back above a solid seat, raised on block and turned legs joined by multiple stretchers.

First half 19th Century English ash and fruitwood Windsor armchair. The bowed ash back, joined to a bowed arm rail, having a fret carved centre splat, flanked by three fruitwood spindles, continued in groups of three below, with turned angled arm supports, joined to the fruitwood slight saddle seat, resting on turned out-swept legs, joined by an ‘H’ stretcher.
Note: The legs each have the three ringed turn, matching the above detail.
Good overall colour and patination.
