The two plank moulded top above an applied front moulding with an ebony and fruit wood sunburst inlaid central door, flanked by two short above two long drawers having later but appropriate brass work. Having panelled sides and resting on shaped bracket feet. Probably East Anglia 1740 –1840 H: 2’ 10” – 87 cm W: 2’ 6” – 74 cm D: 1’ 7” – 48 cm Note: Originally the top had a linen press attached and were commonly referred to as a ‘Norfolk Chest’. They were used to store blankets, bed linen and table cloths while keeping them neatly pressed at the same time.

Having attractive book matched figured walnut sides with walnut cross banding and mouldings above matching the top cushion drawer. Resting on later shaped bracket feet.
