‘Brownlow Interior Design’ dressed this months room.
However, will stay as over the Christmas and New Year period.
Barbara and Alexandra Brownlow did a fantastic job, bringing the space to life with my furniture, Imari and art, adding their signature parrots, French Louis Style settee, Colefax and Fowler curtains, brass floor lamp, Chinese blue & white umbrella stands, Bragg & Co jungle green lamps and Behruz Studios pure wool flat weave rug.

Nineteen exquisite ornithological subjects, painted by a visitor to the sub-continent in the 1820’s. The representations are anatomically correct and accurate in scale, yet all of these finely executed watercolours – by an unknown but clearly gifted artist – manage to display strong individual character, painstakingly cut as silhouettes and laid down on eleven contemporary folio album pages (510 x 290 mm each) in the style of decoupage, all but three of the specimens with an accompanying contemporary manuscript label cut and pasted onto the page beside it, all the illustrations in an excellent state of preservation, the colours still vibrant, the paper stable, some residual tape marks to corners and margins of the sheets which do not detract, one of the captions identifying a location (Bellary, in Karnataka, southwest India) and a date (January 1828).
The manuscript labels read as follows:

This fair had the largest participating list of antique dealers we have ever gathered together.
The opening night had all proceeds going to UNICEF Australia.
I had many beautiful items prepared for the fair including dressers, wine tables, chairs, botanicals and period to contemporary art.
The fair also showcased an exciting new concept by myself and Mali Moir (artist)

Phacochoerus aethiopicus aethiopicus, originally native to South Africa, this subspecies became extinct around 1871. Cape warthog specimens held in museums lack locality records and the full extent of the Cape warthog’s former distribution remains unknown. There is no mention of this subspecies being obtained after 1860. The Cape warthog and the Dessert warthog are very similar in appearance, one difference is a lack of functional incisors.
