I’ve changed the wording on my LinkedIn profile, indicating I would like to use some of my profession as an advisor within Australia and around the world.

I’ll attach my introduction below. I’ve decided once I close shop in April, I’ll prepare to move to Sydney.

An interesting word to name the welcomed new addition, quite the opposite to be honest. But was just thinking of the Labor PM and Greens leader and for some reason “Interlopers” came into my mind!

Such a fascinating, gifted woman from the early 18th century. Certainly one of my top five botanical engravers in history.
I’ve sold many of her pages over the past four decades.
Having recently purchased several copies of a re print of “A Curious Herbal” I decided to give a copy with each sale of an original Blackwell until all copies are gone.

The chandelier hanging through the centre of the shaped wrought iron staircase, resting along side the decorative balustrade.
Awaiting a contemporary sculpture to arrive.

This English refectory dining table was made between 70 and 30 years before Captain James Cook was born.

I spent most of today re waxing this magnificent second half 17th century English oak refectory table.

Incredible what a good wax can achieve.

The thick single plank, cleated top, on baluster turned legs, joined by well worn stretchers.

A rare 17th century English ash boarded chest of diminutive proportions.
The knuckle hinged top, with an applied carved fruitwood facing mould, above the incised/scratch-carved feeding birds. With traces of the original hand made nails and missing lock plate.
The floor wedged through the end boards, with arches resembling legs.

It’s great to finally be closing. Something I started ten years ago when I sold my shop and sized down to where I started over 35 years ago.

I love the natural oxidisation on this beautifully maintained piece.
Could be cleaned and polished up, but not by me..
I bought this from Gary Kay, Antique Decor, High St, Armadale some years ago and found hiding in my storeroom recently.
So I thought to do a post on my Copper, Bronze, Pewter, Brass, Spelter and pressed metals around my showroom today.

Seeing I’m finally closing my shop, end of April, after 35 years, I thought I have plenty of time once closed…
Not that I’ll be sitting still! I’ll probably do the odd pop up shop around Australia, would be great to finally do one in Sydney after having this suggested since I attended antique and art fairs over the decades..
Had such a strong following in NSW, so I may reacquaint.
Besides I’ll be spending a lot more time in Sydney from now on, I’ll be working on writing (that’s my destiny) but retailing is part of my blood!
