Assembling this magnificent Italian Murano clear glass chandelier today.
So much work goes into buying, packing, shipping, restoring and re wiring, then reassembling in showroom.
I thought I’d show a few photos of the process.
This is the largest of this particular, delightful, classic style I’ve had in over 30 years.

We restored this pair of bentwoods for a customer recently.
Quite a transformation.
Thought I’d show you how easy it is to re buff existing wax finishes.
I find flannelette the best for a good easy shine. Cut all seams from material.
Use your palm on a flat surface, obviously fingers into corners or threads, such as this.

Mary and John hanging out with myself and Jack this morning.
Was great to be together again.
Mary visits most Wednesday’s after her acupuncture next door.
John’s been in hospital for many operations over the past few months, we chat and message daily, but nothing like a catch up.
Mary often brings me flowers from her garden.
Today was some pretty Port Wine Magnolia.

We recently restored this late Georgian mahogany, beautifully silk upholstered arm chair for a customer.
He’s owned it for years. His cheeky new puppy thought the moulded hand rest was tasty!
Great work patching and re carving thanks Eddie. I did the colouring, not easy with the silk.
David polished, cut back and re wax finished.
Great teamwork here as always, and one very happy customer!

Also selling this magnificent set of dining chairs.
Sold the chestnut farmhouse table to Southern Highlands last week.
That’s probably why I loved re dressing The Johnston Collection 2010

20th Century Regency style standard reading lamp
I know who made this lamp, as I used to buy from Chris and re sell back in the 90s.
Chris had this shop before I moved in 1990, then he was a couple of blocks up “Lighthouse Antiques”,
haven’t seen Chris for nearly a decade, great bloke.
Anyway, it’s nice to have one in stock again.
You’ll notice the arm and shade are fully moveable to light up your art or use as a reading lamp.
The stylish clean Regency lines in brass suit my style of furniture and art well.
