Note: This subject is painted life six from samples grown by Blue Lotus Nursery. This variety was bred by the owner from Chinese seed he himself collected and imported from China. The original painting includes an extra new leaf emerging on left side as seen in photo below.
An 18th Century lead stick/umbrella stand, having a decorative exterior of a cupid holding a flaming torchere on a chariot; being pushed by another cupid, and pulled by two puttis.

A pair of 19th Century French beaten brass torchieres with shell and leaf motifs.
Also known as the battle of Abourkir Bay, Egypt. The French were defeated by the British forces led by Rear-Admiral Sir Horatio Nelson. An historic piece of embroidery. The rigging on the men of war is authentic, the red ensign is flown on the senior ship. A superb piece of embroidery, most probably by an Officer while at sea. 1798
