We just restored this late 19th Australian Blackwood folding library chair for a customer.
The frame and seat were broken.
Re-glued, wax filled damage lines, clean back surfaces, colour where necessary.
Re french polish overall, cut back and wax finish.
Waxed up so well.
Perfect for beside sofa or armchair with glass of wine and your television remotes to rest.
Also makes a functional coffee table for a small apartment, with storage inside.

The half round folding top, opening to form a blue felted circular top, having a deep bowed skirt, with four square tapered legs.
The rear left opening to support the playing surface.
Good overall deep toned patination.

The bold bowed top rail above a fret-carved centre splat, running through a well patinated bowed arm
rest, with out swept turned arm supports, on a well grained saddle seat, resting on central bobbin-
turned legs, joined by a bowed front stretcher and the original bowed rockers.
Fantastic overall colour and patination.

Ernest James Theodore (Theo) Mashman (1895-1964), potter, was born on 19 August 1895 at Willoughby, Sydney.
Elder son of Henry Mashman (1856-1922), potter, and his second wife Elizabeth Simpson, née Wieland, a widow.
Theo, as he was known, represented the second generation of Mashmans in Australia.
Stylish in any home, old or new.
